Showing all portal rows in Preview mode

Featured Replies

I have designed a till in FM which has a layout containing two portals: one for items bought, the other for payments made. I now want to print this layout (re-themed, of course, but displaying the same information) in preview mode.

Sometimes there are so many items in the "items bought" portal that they don't all fit on the screen. I have therefore added a vertical scrollbar to the portal. However, this disappears in preivew mode so I can't see all the records.

Is there any way of getting round this problem, so two portals can be displayed in their entirety in preview mode, no matter how big they are?

Although normally I do not recommend using portals for printing, here is something to fix your situation.

On your reports layout, increase the number of portal row to accommodate your largest amount of records for that portal. Select all the object in the portal to slide up as well as the enclosing body part.

The 'true' way to report these portals is to build a report from the aspect of the child side of the relationship, with each record appearing in a body part. You can of course print the parent info in the header section.

Because there are 2 portals then you would need 2 reports.

Thanks guys! Neither of these solutions is ideal but it's good to know the proper way to do things.
