ianmuir Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Hi, I need a script that search the records for my criteria, goes to the first found record, omits all the others the prints the first one in list view. Then loops goes to the second record omits all the others and prints the second one in list view. it keeps looping and printing untill all records are printed. Any ideas?
comment Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Could you explain why a single record needs to be printed in list view?
ianmuir Posted January 13, 2010 Author Posted January 13, 2010 Yes, The record is a remittance advice paid to an artiste. If he/she is owed more than one payment in list view all the owed payments are listed and can be printed.
comment Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I am afraid it still doesn't make sense (to me) list view is for showing (or printing) several records. If there's only one record in the found set, then list view and form view are practically the same thing. I have the feeling you want to print your records in groups, with each group on a separate page. If so, there's a much simpler way to do this. If not, please elaborate.
ianmuir Posted January 13, 2010 Author Posted January 13, 2010 If I do a find for all paid invoices it finds them OK. it shows the artists name and payment owed to him in a layout but one record at a time (sorted by artists name). In list view it shows the artists name at the top and all payments underneath which is Not what I want. I need it to show the artists name and only payments due to him underneath not all the payments.
comment Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Maybe someone else will be able to help you - I am afraid I have no idea what this is about.
ianmuir Posted January 13, 2010 Author Posted January 13, 2010 "If there's only one record in the found set, then list view and form view are practically the same thing" Yes but there is more than one record in the found set. So I need to print the records one a time in list view.
Lee Smith Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Hi Ian37 and wecome to the Forum. If comment can't understand what you want to accomplish, I don't think many others will be able to. Perhaps if we saw your file(s) we might better understand the problem, and help you to a solution. If you need help on how to attach your file, see this post Link Lee
