Family Relationships

Featured Replies

I have an excel spreadsheet with aunts uncles brothers etc all the relatives you can think and their relation to each person. So for example I have Jon Doe in cell A1 and all the way under relative would be Jane Smith (listed as an aunt or sister or whatever). I imported all these relationships into my filemaker file. So under one contact you can click on related contacts and there would be Brother1, 2, 3, Sister 1, 2, 3. Aunts uncles father mother all that. I want to be able to have the related contacts self update so if say Jon Doe is the Brother of Jim Doe and he adds a sister Jane Doe, then Jim Does sister field would automatically contain Jane Doe as well and he would not have to manually add her as a sister. So basically how do I tie all the family together so that if one relative changes something about his or her relationship with the family all the other family members information and relationship status with that person automatically updates.

Thanks!

Erik
