March 26, 200223 yr I just moved into this job and I inherited a FM 4.1 application with 33 databases. The system has been tracked over by my 4-5 predecessors to the point it's really muddied - it's barely half relational any more. I'm considering upgrading to the latest & greatest FM, but I'd like to get a handle on what I've got first. Are there any documentation tools that'll help me out with identifying scripts, layouts, relationships and the rest? Oh, and does the newest FM have a way to export styled text? Thanks
March 27, 200223 yr Links to all the documentation tools are on this page at FMFiles.com. Most of them I believe still have 4.x versions available. FWIW, printing your fields and scripts to PDF files can also be very handy, since they are searchable. >... a way to export styled text? No, unless you want to roll your own, i.e. make calculations for HTML formatting, or QXP tags, or RTF etc.
March 27, 200223 yr Don't forget FM Developer 5.5 has a analyzer function that might help. You'll need it to user Analyzer 3.0 as well.
