Mif Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Anyone know where I might recover a bunch of handy calculations I have always had listed on the "Watch" tab of the data viewer? Any idea how they dissappeared? Thanks
dansmith65 Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 I wish I knew. That has happened to me as well. For me, I lost the list of calculations I had in the Data Viewer when FileMaker crashed.
Mif Posted September 13, 2011 Author Posted September 13, 2011 I have since noticed that crashing is what has caused it for me as well. There must be a temp file somewhere that contains the data.
dansmith65 Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Apparently it's stored in the registry, along with all the user-settings for FileMaker (dialog position/size, favorites, recent files, etc., etc.) I just wrote a simple script that can backup/restore this information from a file. It can be run by double-clicking on it (interactive mode), or passing the desired option as a parameter (silent mode). It has only been tested on Windows Vista, but should work for XP and 7 as well (as far as I know). The backup file is stored in the same directory as the script, and with the same name as the script, but with a ".reg" file extension. FMRegistry.zip
