The Missing Man Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Being a newbie, I encounter these dumb problems but I know someone always has the simple answer. I am figuring something is locked or a field is stopping me from adjusting the layout. I copied info into a new layout and needed to format it so I can print the data on an 8.5 x11 sheet of paper. i have a header area, a body area and a total area. My problem is I cannot adjust the body area. I want to reduce the space it takes up. Ultimately I want it to slide up and down based on the number of fields I have filled in within what will be a portal I am figuring. I have included the layout for reference. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.
bcooney Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 There's no attachment. Also, printing portals isn't recommended. Rather, go related to the child table and design a report from that context.
The Missing Man Posted September 22, 2011 Author Posted September 22, 2011 Apparently when I tried to upload it again. It would not allow me to post the filemaker file. So instead I have provided a png image. Hope this helps. FYI there are no fields blocking anything that I can see that could maybe stop the moving up of the body area. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance, -AL
Lee Smith Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Apparently when I tried to upload it again. It would not allow me to post the filemaker file. Files to be attached, must be in the proper format. FileMaker files have to be zipped. Lee
Fitch Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 There may be a white rectangle or something that is preventing you from resizing the body part. Try Select All, this will show you if that's the case.
David Jondreau Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 You can also "command drag" and that will select anything the selection box touches (rather than the default behavior to select whatever the box encompasses).
The Missing Man Posted September 23, 2011 Author Posted September 23, 2011 Thanks Lee for the advice on zipping the file. There was a very small box that I was able to delete. Problem solved. Thanks everyone
