Using FM to create asset based Portfolios/albums

I wanted to ask a question to Filemaker developers/users. Can the application create or be used to create an online or stand-alone portfolio/album that displays designs/photos/etc. And of course can be updated via filemaker and also updated on the web album as well. It can be wither html or flash based as well.

I am searching all over for an application that does this and the search is a bit tedious. Any assistance would be appreciated.

FMP can be used as the back-end to a web site, yes. This js called "custom web publishing" (CWP).

FMP also has an "instant web publishing" (IWP) feature where the database gets rendered as web pages -- it is amazing but has limitations.

I don't think the question is defined well enough.

Don't you need the server version for CWP?

Probably, but that's an implementation detail, not an issue of capability. :D

It's the P in "FMP" that caught my eye.

Well, I've very tempted to edit my earlier post but I am above that kind of behaviour. :D
