Who could direct me to the best source for Lasso Training?

I took a 3-day class this past summer from Advanced Software Training. (www.advancedsoftwaretraining.com)

The class focused on FileMaker/Lasso/Dreamweaver. It was a great class!

For more information check out the website or email Bill McLeod at [email protected]. Hope this helps!

Unfortunately there's a real vacuum for good Lasso resources at an affordable price. Most of them are quite expensive, either approaching or exceeding $1,000.

One resource from the same people who operate the class that Jeff mentioned is the book from that class. It isn't perfect, and it doesn't go into nearly enough detail, and it requires that you have not only Lasso but Lasso Studio and Dreamweaver, but it's only $50. I bought it a few days ago and have nearly finished it, having learned a few new things that make me believe that over all it was worth the purchase, but just barely. It also seems to reference files that you can get during the class or on a more expensive CD package but which aren't included with the book, making it pretty difficult to go through the last quarter of the book. You can buy a hard copy of the book for $60 or save ten bucks and get the PDF version.

Another resource which used to be on the web for free is http://www.learninglasso.com, but those lessons have been discontinued because of lack of time of the author. I've been trying to convince him to take it up again, offering the resource for payment. But he's unconvinced that he can make enough to have the project be worthwhile. Perhaps if enough of us let him know that there's an interest, he might change his mind. You can contact him through a link at http://www.polytrope.com.

Other than that, if you have the Lasso Studio, I would recommend going through the tutorial in it's manual and subscribing to the Lasso list at http://www.blueworld.com.
