10.9 Mavericks

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Anyone testing with Mac OS 10.9 Mavericks already ?

Edited by Lee Smith
changed the description by adding Mac OS

Tested it very briefly with FM 12. Looked OK.

I do have a major problem un FM 11 .. I am not able to click anywhere in a window. It just won't even bring the focus to that window. It only do that on my iMac. I tested it on my macbook air and i don't experience the problem. It is also not related to a file or server since I tested it with about 5 different file on 3 different server. I reinstalled my FMPA 11 v4.

Anyone ?

*****EDIT: Solved it ! When 2empowerFM v2.34 is activated in the plug-ins menu you can't get focus on anything in a window. Remove the plug-in and the problem is gone. 2empowerFM v2.37 do not cause this problem on my macbook air. It could means that the issue affect v2.34 only.

To reply to myself... It seems like the troi Activator Plugin version 3.5 did not load when starting FM12v4.

I am looking into it, stand by.

[uPDATE] Troi has confirmed Activator 3.5 not working.

Filemaker server 12 crashes on install on Mavericks server :(

  • Newbies

If you are running Filemaker Server 12v04 then upgrade to Mavericks 10.9 you will need to make a few adjustments (prior to FM releasing an update)

1) Java will need to be installed and enabled. The server works fine, the admin console is still dependent on Java.

2) The apache2 Config folder is renamed which contains important apache config files for url redirects etc. With a few adjustments you can correct this faily easily with a text editor. Library/Server/Web/Config/httpd_server_app.conf

There are 5 lines that the FMServer disables here and they are prefixed with #FMI_Configuration_V1 so adjust these in the new httpd_server_app.conf

In addition to this you will need to copy from the old config file to the new config file the 15 lines of <IfDefine WEBSERVICE_ON> that contain the Filemaker Server configs.

Can someone test FIlemaker 9 on it?

I have a bunch of clients still on that, thanks!!

Johhhn, if your client is not going to upgrade Filemaker then don't allow them to upgrade to 10.9. Its too much hard work!

I have FM 12 Server running on a MacMini with 10.7, I am looking at upgrading to 10.9. Would I be better off just waiting until FM release an update? I don't like the idea of changing system files and then having to put them back after the FM update.

i think you answered your own question... it's better to wait for official release from filemaker server for mavericks.

I am sorry, but where can I find this file ?

I am running plain Mavericks, not server.

Does this solve the php just being displayed in stead of run ?

TIA !

Not sure if someone can help but i just got a new iMac at work... wooooo..

but filemaker 11 isn't working properly ... boooo

I can't see what I am typing! It is typing as when I click out of the window.. it appears.. but I can't view it LIVE as I type.

Is there an update anywhere? I can't find one!

Thanks

T

By the way... I didn't make it clear.. I am running Mavericks.. which was pre-installed on the new iMac...

Are you using them most recent update of 11.0v4 ?

Does that matter? (11.0v4)

FileMaker Pro 12 was updated for Mavericks. (12.0v5)

But FileMaker 11 is not supported on Mavericks and will not be updated.

It works for me without any problems.

That’s weird, AFAIK,  it has always been FileMaker's policy to support the most recent FileMaker release, plus one version back? I haven’t seen anything from them to the contrary.

They have been very clear about this. FM11 Mavericks not gonna happen.

And - current plus one version back? Maybe so. Depends on when you ask....
