Newbies Ja5en Posted February 19, 2014 Newbies Posted February 19, 2014 Hi there, I'm trying to summarise and count unique values in a field and would appreciate any help to make it a swifter process. I just can't seem to get my head around it. My list looks like this ... Large Carton Large Carton Medium Carton Medium Carton Medium Carton Medium Carton Medium Carton Medium Carton Small Carton Small Carton And I want it to look like this ... 2 Large Carton 6 Medium Carton 2 Small Carton Any suggestions would be massively appreciated. Thanks J

Charity Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I would do this with a regular report and summary fields. Would a regular report work for you? How do you need this information? And what Comment says.
LaRetta Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 and count unique values in a field Hi Charity, What you suggest is spot-on if those lines were records ... which they should be ... rather than a single field as they are. Everything becomes simpler when the data is normalised. Nice suggestion!
