Am getting pretty much the same results on a 2010 MBP 2.8GHz i7 with 8GB

I find the thin, faintly colored lines and blobs difficult to distinguish from each other. For me, it is much clearer to use symbols on the graph.

Here are a couple of result, from my machine, using symbols on the graph.

Next thing I might want to know is what is the time difference to create the two types of arrays, and then the total time comparison for creation and reading...

And a chart from my 'fast' desktop 4GHx i7 16GB Retina iMac - some clear overall speed advantage, but crossover points of about 150 and 450

With apologies to Jeremy...

Amended file with simple two loop comparison between setVar[$i] and List()

Var[$i] is linear but as Todd discovered in the Hyperlist demo the List() is hyperbolic, so at some point not far after 35-40000 iterations this begins to tank quite quickly
