    have you found a system yet. i have a a complete timecard billing system that handles a work shift up to 23hours 59 minutes for any commencement time. produces both billings and pay data. please contact me offpost mike@2mike.co.uk

    why not just have one record for each date and 2 fields ie am and pm otherwise you have to loop creating records with something like set field datex = datex + 1 for 2 records ; next iteration and so on. regards mike

    i find it amazing that there is no syllabus for the certification exam. my reply from delfina:- The materials we recommend to prepare are at this URL: http://www.filemaker.com/developers/certification/steps.html not a syllabus then - so just be able to recite the "help" as a starter

    as a starting point think of the tables as spreadsheets and then decide how each of them are linked

    i am not using any server - i just open any file say, and got to application preferences. the network protocol displays <none> . in network window i have a location of home with tcp/ip with ip addresses. filemaker does not see this. i await your suggestions please? thank you

    when i try to make files multi user the message "no network protocol" set appears. when i go to preferences only the "none" option is set. however in networking i have tcp/ip set with a name. is this a filemaker problem or a osx setting i have not made correctly? 2mike@waitrose.com
