As an example scenario, if I owned an apartment building and wanted to have a wireless pushbutton in each apartment that when pushed would reach my FM application and be identifiable by the application (by a unique identifier (ie UUID)). 
 

I’m looking for the least expensive device that is WiFi-connectable that can, when ‘activated,’ can trigger an event in my FM program. 
 

I can accomplish this with an iPad, but I’m looking for something MUCH less expensive. Any ideas?
