creating script with current export order

Featured Replies

Hello Mavens,

I have a complex database and I have to export some of it into a spreadsheet. After some experimenting I created the right export order. Now I can reuse it and export from each record individually but now I'd like to automate it in the form of a script. Is there a way to sort of "import" the current export order into a new script? If there is, I have not been able to find it. Thanks, Asu

I am not sure I understand your question - esp. the part about  exporting "from each record individually".

AFAIK, Filemaker remembers the last export's settings; if you export records manually, then open Script Workspaces and insert a new Export Records script step, the initial settings (file type, field export order, options) will be the same as the ones you selected for the manual export.

I created an export order and I can manually export data by going from record to record because FM remembers the last export order (until it is changed).

I want to create a script using this last saved export order - imagine that there is a button on the Export window that says "put this export order into a script". That is the functionality I am looking for.

Thanks
