I have a layout that shows % of Business for each client for the year.

When I print it, a straight list of all transactions for the year prints, not the summary layout.

Any clues?

Without seeing your file we can merely guess. I would think you are either using the wrong layout or your records are not sorted by client. But the 2nd explanation would require the layout to have a body part, which a "summary layout" would not normally have.

A preview should produce Client name and list of invoices etc...

SummaryTrue is what it normally looks like in Browse Mode.

Sorry, I have no clue what these PDFs are supposed to tell us. When I said we need to see your file, I meant your Filemaker file. Preferably a copy reduced to the minimum required to demonstrate the problem.

FWIW, here's a skeleton file showing the kind of report you describe (I think). What you see after clicking the Report… button, is also what you should see in Preview mode and in a printout.
