Arin Posted September 11, 2000 Posted September 11, 2000 Did you know that the Web Server Connector is NOT compatable with Mac OS X Server 1.2 (the current shipping version)! It requires OS X Server 1.0 - 2. Anyone know where they still sell that?
OSXS Posted September 14, 2000 Posted September 14, 2000 Hey there! I used to think the same until this morning. If you rigidly follow the instructions about a manual install in the config.txt file, it will work. I'm running OSXS 1.2 on a G4/450 with developer package installed. Hope this helps!
Arin Posted September 14, 2000 Author Posted September 14, 2000 Excellent! Thanks!! So I should be fine with OSXS 1.2 on a G3. Have you tried to install Apache-SSL ?? see link: http://www.li.com/~bsrour/apachessl.txt -Arin Cellules_congel__es.zip
OSXS Posted September 14, 2000 Posted September 14, 2000 No, I haven't. But I played with a demo of Tenon Intersystems' iTools, which implements SSL. It seemed to work well. But it's expensive. Cheers, OSXS
Arin Posted September 18, 2000 Author Posted September 18, 2000 This is a little off the subject, but How much Ram are you running in your G4 to support both Apache & Web Server Connector ? Is it fast? -A
OSXS Posted September 21, 2000 Posted September 21, 2000 Hey there! The G4 I talked about has 256 Megs of RAM. The system is very responsive and quick. But there has never been any significant traffic so far. We use the box mainliy as a NetBoot server. Cheers, Ron
