carlschneider Posted October 3, 2004 Posted October 3, 2004 I am very familiar with FileMaker, but new to Lasso and web publishing. Can anyone recommend a good book or other reference for those of us starting out on web publishing? Thanks.
Steve T. Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 Woof! Actually, I'm not sure there are too many books out there on CDML/Lasso web publishing (hence a week with no responses to your post) but when I was getting started, I found it really helpful just reading these forums. Most of the posts are about CDML but you should be able to apply them to Lasso, too. He hasn't been around much lately, but ANATOLI used to talk about Lasso and his custom Lasso tags that made up for CDML's limitations, too. Search for anything Lasso related but some of his later posts in particular may be of interest to you (don't search just his posts, though... he had A LOT). This forum (used to be Custom Web Publishing before "Lasso & CDML") used to be very busy, but I think things slowed down when FM announced FM7 would not have CDML anymore. Folks here in the forums can be really helpful, too. Post if you get stuck. --ST
Zero Tolerence Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 FM7 allows a lasso connection with I believe LDML, it works much the same way as CDML. If your really want to learn how this stuff works, Read the language guide that came with lasso, along with the other material they give. I've got to hand to them, with lasso 7 at least, they did very nice documentation to help you out.
mindtpi99 Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 As already stated, Lasso documentation and tutorial are really good, these forums are invaluable. I also found the VTC training CD excellent - you can also view it online: http://www.vtc.com/products/blue-lasso.htm
