Dr. Evil Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 I'm wondering if anyone has a BRILLIANT idea for highlighting a record in list view so User knows what record is active. I'm looking for something semi dramatic. Something more then the old transparent field, object mask and body color trick. Anyone seen something COOL and NEW! I'm excited to hear any tips! THANK YOU

Dr. Evil Posted April 18, 2007 Author Posted April 18, 2007 Great! Just what I was looking for. Altho, I am having trouble making it work in my own solution. I have the plugin installed, and I created the necessary fields "I believe" and still no luck. I am missing something. Any tips, or ideas on what I could be doing wrong? Thank you for the cool tip!
mr_vodka Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Did you turn on the plugin after putting it in the directory? Does the demo work for you? If so, without knowing your solution there could be so many possible reasons.
Lee Smith Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 (edited) You can do this without a plugin. Take a look at this file: Highlight Deluxe By: Davor Juretic at: http://www.fmfiles.com/tnt4.html There are others, HTH Lee p.s. This one is at Ray's site. Dr. Evil Posted April 19, 2007 Author Posted April 19, 2007 (edited) Hello Mr. Vodka Yes the plug-in was installed successful, and yes it was turned on. Yes the Demo by Night Wing works on my computer. I understand there could be many different problems, so I have attached my own small demo file for review. There are a couple key fields that I simply do not understand and a script that I do not know how is invoked. P.S. In response to Lee Smith: Thank you for tip link. Altho I would like to use the feature of (Get ActiveRecordID) and result of a container graphic. Thank you all for your interest and help. mr_vodka Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 You forgot to include the refresh script and the other calc field. Also that calc field needs to be on the layout. ListHighlightDemo.zip
Dr. Evil Posted April 19, 2007 Author Posted April 19, 2007 Thanks Mr. Vodka I got it working in my solution using the revised demo file you did. This technique is very new to me. I do not understand why the field has to be on the layout, and how the refresh script is used/activated. Also, this feature seems to bog down and take a moment to refresh in my solution. But is a lot faster in the demo you provided. Humm? If you are so inclined, I would appreciate some insight on how this all works. And if I can speed it up, not take so much processing power. Thank you for all your time, you have been a great help!
Lee Smith Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 I remove the ability to enter the field in Browse mode, and then it will not show the box of the field when you are clicking on it. HTH Lee
