Flavor of Linux for 5.5 Server

I'm looking to set up the 5.5 Server on a linux install. I've been running into issues because 5.5 is older and the newer linux kernels are too new. Does anyone have a recommendation for a kernel version that will work with server?

Currently I've tried fedora as redhat was the recommended linux version.
