stanley Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 darkalfa: The minimum is XP, as per the tech specs: http://filemaker.com/products/fmp/tech_specs.html -Stanley
darkalfa Posted July 16, 2007 Author Posted July 16, 2007 Quote Make sure you're running service pack 4. Service Pack 4 is installed. I tried fmp_9.0v1R1_trial_win It's a problem because i have all the network with W2K Now we are running FM6 and we were waiting the new FM9 to make an upgrade of all the system. The thing is when i choose the language of the install in english, it tolds me that my windows is not compatible. Ok. But when i choose Spanish, it tolds me that i need Windows 2000 or Windows XP. :qwery: there is a mistake of translation?
aholtzapfel Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 You could run FMP on a Terminal Server, have your clients to remote in.
fmpwnerer Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 It must be an issue in translation. FileMaker has dropped support for windows 2000 for its clients. Take a look at the minimum system requirements. :
fmlawl Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Quote You could run FMP on a Terminal Server, have your clients to remote in. Pro will not run on Server 2000 even if it is Terminal Services or Citrix. FileMaker only runs server 9 on Windows Server 2000 SP4, sadly it has lower minimum requirements than Windows Server 2003. As for the translation, it seems someone forgot to change something somewhere : Still a funny find, but I would disregard it, as the spanish language itself does not lower minimum requirements :P
Reed Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 I think that the poster meant to have the terminal server using a supported OS, then any platform supported by citrix, etc, would be able to connect and use FMP9 (a wider range of support than for FMP itself)
JesseSFR Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 You can actually run Server 9 on Win XP as well. Just an FYI... doesn't really add to this conversation much.
