Greetings -- I'm running FMPro Unlimited 5.0v2 on Mac OS 9.1 (via TCP/IP,

with FMPro Access Privileges), with updated Web Companion 5.0v6. I use

Lasso as middleware, but run direct CDML commands on occasion to remotely

close/open my databases. Recently I have been consistently encountering error -43 (which Mac interprets as "File not found; Folder not found; Edition container not found; Target not found") when I run the -DbOopen command, though the file is definitely there, and the -DbClose command works just fine.

The problem appears to be FMPro's inability to recognize any filenames at all upon invoking the -DbOpen command -- though it is, as mentioned above, able to recognize filenames with the -DbClose command. I can, for instance, type in a nonexistent FMPro filename and will obtain the same error upon running -DbOpen, though when I do the same thing with -DbClose I get the proper error ("Unable to process your request because the database nn.fmp is not open").

Support searches have revealed a similar error only years ago with the original Claris XTND System. Any ideas?

Many thanks --

Jim P.

You have to have databases in Web folder. That is wrong because of security reasons.

You can open and close databases by calling script in Housekeeping database sitting on server for this purpose.
