SendMail prompts Warning Message from MS Outlook

Featured Replies

Hi there everyone! I was wondering if anyone else out ther has seen this sort of thing or not.

I am using the Send Mail script step with the "no dialog" option. However, when I run this script my computers are prompting with this warning message from MS Outlook:

Microsoft Office Outlook

A program is trying to automatically send e-mail on your behalf. Do you want to allow this?

If this is unexpected, it may be a virus and you should choose "No".

Buttons: Yes No Help

When you click Yes, the script continues without a problem but I need to automate this and bypass the MS Outlook prompt. Any ideas?

Hi,

There is a setting in Outlook for this.

Tools>Options>Security>Check box "Warn me when other applications try to send mail as me"

My version of MS Outlook 2003 SP3 does not have that checkbox under the Tools>Options>Security. Hmmm....

I'm using 2006. Not sure if the setting is in the version you are using. If it is not, maybe it's time to upgrade.

Or, use Eudora, if possible.

I believe it would actually be a downgrade. I'm pretty sure Outlook Express has that setting but Outlook Standard does not.

Hi,

You can work around this by using VBScripts or using plugins. Also, try to download and install ClickYes. Moreover, if you just need to send the message without having MS Outlook to do it, you can try "Blat"

Hope it helps...

Out of curiosity why would it be a downgrade?

Outlook Express is a lesser product. Now it be *may* be a newer version and it *may* be all he needs but Outlook Express is clearly not as full featured as Outlook Standard.

We wrote a plug-in called the Outlook SendMail Plug-in to solve this exact problem.

You can download a demo and get more info at http://www.outlookmanipulator.com

It is cheaper than the ClickYes product and does much more including:

•Send mail with multiple attachments from a container field or from a file path using dynamic file names

•Send e-mail without using an external SMTP mail client

•Can be deployed to your network by FileMaker Server

•Allows you to send HTML formatted e-mail

•Retains mail history in Sent Items folder

•Native to FileMaker Pro 7-8.5 plug-in architecture

•Reusable code for upgrading to Outlook Manipulator
