I think I heard someone dancing and chanting.

You most surely did! :chili: Wonderful to *see* you!

Holy junk!!!

:jaw:

Thanks for the greetings. It's a nice place to visit, but I can't live here or else I'll never sleep; and now with a wife and a baby on the way, it's not even an option anymore.

I see that comment is living up to his name, LaRetta is hyper, and Søren is insulting me somewhat regularly; so nothing much has changed in a couple of years. :)

How is everyone doing these days?

CONGRATULATIONS JT! You will be a wonderful daddy!

I'm just tickled to know you are okay! Yep, we're all a crazy crew still ...

  • Author

That remains to be seen, but I think I'll do okay. You'll have to ask the youngin' in about 18 years, to be sure though.

Hey Queue long time since I have seen you here.

Grats on the kid

Hope your music is still going strong.

  • Author

The music is going well, but our lead guitarist moved out-of-state last fall, so the rest of us have rejoined with our original singer/guitarist and are going towards a more 60's brit pop sound than a 90's brit rock one. It's both challenging and very hooky, which is a nice combination. Alas, SV is no more, and we have yet to think of an appropriate name for the current incarnation. If you've any ideas, I'll gladly steal them. :yay:

Apologies, but I can't recall many real names at the moment. comment is Michael, but the rest? :idunno: :sorrysign:

Apologies, but I can't recall many real names at the moment.

Well to start, LaRetta = LaRetta. :

Congrats on the baby and the wedding. Its nice when life doesnt revolved around a computer. :)

BTW. You may want to modify your profile to get rid of the dead link to SV. :

And the Liquor Is Quicker dude is John but everyone calls him Mr. Vodka (ha ha). And Soren is the philosophizer and -Queue- is the anomality. :laugh2:

"Anomality" Rocks

I meant the non-obvious names, of course. :)

I'm attempting to perform moderation duties, but can't figure out how in the world to move a topic. Anyone want to make me appear blind and idiotic?

  • Author

Oh, yes, there is none greater than Anomality. Thanks again, comment!

Where the heck is he, anyway?

"Move a topic" is on the bottom below the Quick Reply box".

As to where Michael is, perhaps he is sleeping...

BTW. Perhaps I should split this topic off from the orig since we are littering it with welcomes. hehe.

  • Author

I see no such option. Perhaps I am now a limited moderator. In any case, I was going to move that recent FileMaker Server thread, which is not server-related.

I moved it. Good catch. I also wrote Stephen a PM regarding your moderatorship.

Where the heck am I?! The guy disappears for god knows how long, and now it's where the heck am *I*? I am here, and it's about time you be here as well.

  • Author

Well, you were *here* in name earlier (according to the login list) but absent in posting, so I just wondered.

According to god (and the search engine), it would have been two years in May. I think that proves I wasn't addicted, don't you?

LOL, it proves anything you want it to prove. Mainly it proves you have a need to prove something to someone...

Now, will you please apply yourself to replacing me as the top scorer? MVP is the title I am really aspiring to.

I think that proves I wasn't addicted, don't you?

I'm afraid that is non sequitur. It only proves you have great willpower. You can have great willpower AND be addicted. :)

  • Author

You mean the comic strip? I like that one! :smile2:

Yeah, I think I have the same issue with Mountain Dew, but I can easily admit that addiction.

So comment chooses quality over quantity, but isn't that subjective to the reader? Who would be able to judge such a thing? And who would want to review all the posts necessary to do so anyway?

We do. :crazy2: At least *I* do. :blush2: What comic strip? Like a comic strip in a newspaper?

I've never read newspapers and hadn't seen it but it is very good! Nah, I meant Latin "does not follow" (gleaned from Michael) in that the conclusion from the logic isn't logical.

1. An FM addict frequents FM Forums

2. I stay away for two years

3. Therefore, I am no FM addict.

You can be an FM addict and not frequent FM Forums. Oh, okay, scratch that ... :giggle:

  • Author

Actually, that logic does follow since all FM addicts frequent FM Forums and once in two years is by no means frequently. But I think you already realized that. :)

  • Author

How would one split the topic anyway?

I've never read newspapers

Huh?? How common is that in your neck of the woods, you do not seem nowhere near half as dyslexic as me???

--sd

Oh, I've glanced at a newspaper a few times (on and off throughout the years). But 50% is negative and makes me feel bad and I don't believe the other 50% so why bother? My head is not a garbage can with a hairy lid and I protect what goes in with a vengeance. 30 years ago, I'd read the cartoons out of newspapers - Dennis the Menace, I remember; I related to him for some reason. :smile2:

Corrected sentence

But 50% is negative and makes me feel bad and I don't believe the other 50% so why bother?

But isn't it the tabloid segment you talk about here? Do you not have something like the british Observer, the german Frankfurter Algemeine or the swiss Neuer Zücher Zeitung?

--sd

We've taken this thread so far off topic already, Soren. It isn't fair to cr-dev, and other people who only care in reading about reports with aggregate data, probably don't appreciate pages of chatter either. :blah:

I'd split it, as suggested, but I've never split a post before. We'll need Stephen or Lee to help us, I think. But to cut to the chase of your question ... I believe no one except for a trusted FEW and certainly nothing in print from strangers. Too many people can be bought and many of the rest have their own motives and opinions which get in the way of true truth.

This is a forum for FileMaker. Even here - I trust only some of the responses and no, I won't tell you who they are. :laugh2:

Queue, you know, I just missed you when I joined ... and I was kind of upset that I was just stuck with these guys at the end of the day hahahaha.

But really, welcome back. Your posts have provided much amusement and sometimes they were useful too :)

Cheer Bro.

(Call me what you like)

... It's a nice place to visit, but I can't live here or else I'll never sleep; and now with a wife and a baby on the way, it's not even an option anymore. ..

Where are the wife, and baby coming from? :giggle::)

Congratulations, it sounds like your life has already been changed, with more changes on the way. LOL :waytogo:

Please stay a little longer this time around.

TIA

Lee

(Call me what you like)

Hmmmm open invitation??? I dont think there is enough time. :)

Where are the wife, and baby coming from?

Haven't you heard how women throw themselves at rock stars?

--sd

Ahahahahaha,

I love how you write women and then point to Heather Mills.

  • Author

Genx, I shall heretoafter call you Squishy.

Lee, Bangladesh. :wink2: But what are you thanking me in advance for?

Søren, there are much better examples to use, but I get your point.

Everyone, thank you for your kind re-welcomes. I will try not to bail again, as long as no one really, REALLY pisses me off. :wink2:

Lee, Bangladesh. :wink2: But what are you thanking me in advance for?

I will try not to bail again ... :wink2:

TIA for Not taking off again.. Just in case you were thinking of bailing again if I *** you off. :giggle:

  • Author

Ah, I see. Well, you can rest assured that you have never, and I doubt will ever, *** me off. And I'm glad to see that you're still around here too! :yourock:

  • 11 months later...

I think I heard someone dancing and chanting.

Well, my legs keep moving to a beat of boolean boogie and chant formulae and I think of you, JT. I hope you and your family are doing well. I miss your mathematical explanations and corrections on boolean logic. But I suppose you are boogin' on better things, such as small wiggly fingers and toes, a smile of a loved one, and diaper doozies.

I just wanted to say we still read your posts and learn from your words. And we still appreciate all the help you've given us. :wink2:
