Hi.

I want filemaker to send e mails out without using the local email programme on the windows workstation as the company currently uses OWA. I do not want filemaker to receive e mails just send. Each users e mail also has SMTP settings that can be used. However I do need the email to be sent from the specific users account that is logged in, so that any replies come back to that user. There are multiple users on the database at once. Is there any way I can do this, do i need a plug in.

Many thanks

John

I have recently been through this exercise and settled on Max Bulk Mailer -but it is not a plug-in and I don't think it sounds the right solution for you as you appear to want to perform personal mass mailings.

If your client is running FM Server then have a look at Autosender on www.myfmbutler.com. It is a server plug in.

Other than that have look as http://www.dacons.net/ for mail.it 3

I have used both SMTPit as well as 360Works Email plugin. I wrote my thoughts on this post regarding them.

Oh BTW, I keep forgetting to mention this each time this similar question comes up, but if you are looking for a simple SMTP email that is not server based, then you can do it for free using 360 Works ScriptMaster.

Thank you all for your comments. My solution is a network version of filemaker running from filemaker server but the individual users would send the mails not the server. I am not sure if this means the 360 plug in will work or not but I am going to try it and see.

many thanks again

John
