Newbies DeepestBlue Posted October 6, 2008 Newbies Posted October 6, 2008 (edited) OK I have a FMS 7 serving around 20 FMP 8 clients. I have amended/ added a number of files on FMP 9A and added them to the server, one using the dacons mail-it plugin. On trying to access these files via FMP 9A I get the response "This action cannot be performed because this file is not modifiable" The files have network sharing on, and Network access to file is set to all users so why are they not modifiable???....don't think Im being totally dim, but its a possibility! David Jondreau Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Check the permissions of the file itself. I haven't used FMS 7, but have run across OS permissions problems in 8 and 9. Does this just happen when accessing with 9?
Newbies DeepestBlue Posted October 6, 2008 Author Newbies Posted October 6, 2008 permissions on individual files are fine...going to download a trial version of FMS 9 and run it on a separate machine to see if it overcomes the issue...will report back in due course
