February 10, 200916 yr Newbies I have a really huge MS Word document. It's more than 1000 pages and it's filled with small texts that I want to import in a database. It will take me forever to copy and paste everthing. Especially because I also have lots of footnotes in the texts. Is there a way to import everything automatically? Should I change it to a .txt file or do I have to do something else?
February 10, 200916 yr It's more than 1000 pages and it's filled with small texts That really doesn't say much. The important questions here are: 1. How so you intend to break up the data, in terms of records and fields (or perhaps tables, records and fields)? 2. Is the document marked up in such way that allows it to be easily converted into a format that Filemaker can understand (during import and/or by scripted parsing following import)?
February 12, 200916 yr Author Newbies I found someone in real life who will help me, but thanks for trying to help me! :
February 13, 200916 yr I think we would all be interested to know how you will be helped - that's how we got to be where we are today.
February 13, 200916 yr Indeed, reports of my life have been greatly exaggerated. (with apologies to Mr. Clemens)
February 13, 200916 yr Author Newbies I asked the guy who took over, but it seems that he didn't find a solution either. He copied and pasted everything.
February 20, 200916 yr Hi, I will recommend that you upload here about 2 or 3 pages and let me see what type of data is and what I can do. Without looking its very hard to suggest. Regards, Tusif
