Some Intel Macs on 10.5.x can't see database list or connect

Hello. I was hoping to find a general forum for problems and I fear that I'll be reaching a very small audience by posting in this sub forum only...

FMSA 8 running on Win2003. No problems except that SOME Intel based Macs running Mac OS 10.5.x and Filemaker Pro 7 can't see databases on the FMSA server. They can ping each other and Wireshark shows SOME activity between the two on Filemaker's ports, but the list of databases never appears. Attempts to connect to databases directly by specifying the fmnet: URL also fail.

The clients would prefer not to upgrade to Filemaker Pro 9 if possible.

Any ideas? I know that Filemaker, Inc no longer supports FM Pro 7. Any help is appreciated.

My initial reaction was to ask you to check to make sure AppleTalk was still active on the 10.5 machines. But defining a favorite host by IP should accomplish the same thing.
