Newbies extramsg Posted March 19, 2010 Newbies Posted March 19, 2010 I have a client that wants to continue using Filemaker 5 until Charlton Heston's ghost pulls it at gunpoint from their cold dead fingers. They're currently running it on Windows Server 2000 and need to upgrade to Windows Server 2008. Anyone doing so? Any problems? Thanks. Nick
Vaughan Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 No idea, but the best chance would be to run it on 32 bit Windows and not 64 bit.
Steven H. Blackwell Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Probably not going to work. They need to upgrade. Steven
Newbies B E Weitbrecht Posted April 26, 2010 Newbies Posted April 26, 2010 extramsg, how did this turn out? We have the same issue -- our IT department wants to upgrade the server OS to Windows 2008, but we are stuck on FMS 5.5 for at least another year. Did you ever make this work, or discover definitively that it doesn't?
Newbies extramsg Posted April 26, 2010 Author Newbies Posted April 26, 2010 Haven't tested it yet. Don't currently have 2008, though I'll be ordering it soon. I suspect it will work fine as long as it's 32 bit. And if it doesn't, I'll just put the ******* thing on a workstation and call it good.
