Send Mail (sender address)

When using Filemaker from the desktop on a Mac is there a way to set the sender. I'm using Mail.app for sending the email.

FM9 / 10.6.5

Is this choice available in a later version of FM? Does the SMTP Mail method allow you do this from the desktop?

I'm afraid you're going to say Applescript, if that's the case how does one insert an Applescript into the middle of the Send Mail script step?

Yes, both the 'File > Send > Mail...' function and the 'Send Mail' script step allow you to set the sender, and other attributes, of a mail message.

Yes, this feature is available on Filemaker v.9 through v.11.

It's certainly not available on FM9Pro, that's what I have.

You can only set To: CC: BCC: Subject: and Message

Send Mail via SMTP is a version 10 and higher feature.

Sorry that I misunderstood what you meant by 'Sender'. With FM Pro 11 you have the option to use SMTP. In this you specify the 'Reply-To-Address'.
