Hello People,

How does one go about creating a custom login system using lasso as opposed to using the web security database?

Are they tags and so on that one can use? And what are they? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I don't really know what you mean.... but have you read the topic "Please Help: Login and Password"? I think you posted a message there before. I use action filters and the "-required" and "-equals" lasso tags to create a login page. Here is the link to the discussion:

Hey thanks Krishan!

I told you I'd have to depend on your lasso expertise sometime. I will check that link and see what it has to say. Lasso's user, web, and database security is exactly what I am looking for. Thanks again.

Hi Proton! smile.gif" border="0

Well, the Lasso Reference Manual has a good chapter on Security. It takes a while to read but it's pretty straight forward and worthwhile.

Good luck! laugh.gif" border="0

I found that Lasso was stricter than Web Companion. When adding records with Lasso, I had to make sure the layouts only contained the necessary fields. There were a number of other complications but I'm pretty confident now. At least when there is a problem, I have an idea what the problem is..... and I'm not just a complete blank anymore! haha!

Anyway, feel free to email me if you need any help... I'll try my best but I'm just a beginner too.
