alkhall Posted December 11, 2000 Posted December 11, 2000 I want to host 2 separate web sites from the same machine. I know I need FM Unlimited, but do I have to have 2 separate copies of FM Unlimited?
Vaughan Posted December 11, 2000 Posted December 11, 2000 It depends on what you mean by "sites." One normal web server can host thousands of "sites" from the same machine. In relation to FileMaker Pro, I often think of a web site as the web files related to serving one database (or one database solution if it's relational). In this case, yes, a single server can host many sites. It is limitd ultimately by the maximum number of FMP databases it can open concurrently, but also by network and proccessor speed.
yafreax Posted December 12, 2000 Posted December 12, 2000 well, a licsence (or however you spell it) is generally for one machine. So i would say no, since they are on the same machine. We have as many as 25 different sites from one FM Unlimited. yafreax
