November 26, 201213 yr This link appears in several of my previous posts, but has now stopped working: http://fmforums.com/forum/showtopic.php?tid/176396 It redirects to: http://fmforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=42617 and produces an error. Speaking of weird stuff, try going to: http://fmforums.com/forum/topic/65023-monthly-view-with-portals/#317650 For some reason, a few seconds after loading, the page redirects to: http://fmforums.com/forum/topic/66980-portal-using-the-layout-source/#entry317650
November 26, 201213 yr Because these are LINKs from the ancient version of the forums. Anything with "showtopic" in the URL is old. There is a "custom script" that parses the incoming ULR and uses a routing table to match the OLD topic/post ID to the current NEW post ID (From 3 years ago when we imported the old site over) Having to maintain this relic is not something that I intend to do for much longer. My goal will be to scan the raw text of each post for any URLS that are based on the OLD forums and do some GREP magic to format the URL to the new internal link. (THIS is NOT A TRIVIAL TASK) As far as the last two links REMOVE the Anchor from the URL. (#317650) i will report this issue and investigate further.
November 27, 201213 yr Sorry there was a permissions issue with the forum category that contained that thread, that's why the error occurred on the first issue. IF you have an OLD thread style.... and it doesn't direct properly you can modify the url to see the original post on the old forums. http://attic.fmforums.com/forum/showtopic.php?tid/176396 look for some key word date or author to search the current site. Once you have collected the NEW site URL I recommend that you update your bookmarks & favorites & other databases that you keep track of these masterpieces so that when you include them you are linking the better URL. http://fmforums.com/topic/42617-basic-monthly-calendar-april-06/
