January 21, 201411 yr Hello A customer of mine runs a mainly Windows environment. They have troubles with Java to log in the admin console. The Windows (Server and clients) supporter has not the time to update the server and the clients at the moment (the licences are available). He thinks, updating the server in a first time and run the solution with FileMaker Pro 11 clients could do the trick for the moment. Will that work? Should I ask him to give updating to 11v5 Server one more chance? Thank you for your feedback
January 21, 201411 yr No. Fmp 12 is not of the same family of products as fmp 11. Potentially, fmp 12 and 13 will live together depending on features implemented being 12 only and fmp7 to 11 will live together, kind of, sort of, given no features implemented are greater than fmp7. Fmp 11 to 12 is both a jump in versions and a jump in related filemaker code bases.
