Newbies napco Posted January 11, 2001 Newbies Posted January 11, 2001 anyone know about an admin/status window that tracks open databases/connected users for fmpro 5 unlimited? similar to what's built-in to fmpro server. we run 40+ fmpro 5 unlimited databases with web companion and need to tidy-up the desktop a bit. thanks.
Anatoli Posted January 12, 2001 Posted January 12, 2001 I think you can only peek at the log. The web users aren't users of FM system; they are just receiving the HTML.
Newbies napco Posted January 12, 2001 Author Newbies Posted January 12, 2001 if webstar (mac web server) and programs like pagesentry and even fmpro server and provide an admin/status window that simply indicates # databases open and connected users (through tcp/ip), then fmpro 5 should too.

NONE of the web users are connected to the FM Server, only the copy of FMP Unlimited is. And only ONE web user is actually accessing the FMP Unlimited at a time. Look at it this way: you have a terminal with a copy of Filemaker running sitting in the middle of a HUGE crowd of people, but you do not have anything observing it. How many people have used the system? There is no way to know. Now I am sure that it is possible to create some kind of monitoring plugin or app that watches for access and records the IP address or something. ------------------ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Kurt Knippel Consultant Database Resources mailto:[email protected] http://www.database-resources.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
