Better way to download databases with external files

I'm working to update an older solution that is hosted on FMS 13. It includes a container field for scanned copies of paper contracts. The container field data is stored externally.

 

Which I close the database on FMS and then download it to my machine for updates, FMS downloads both the FM file and the folder containing the external files. The scans are rapidly adding up, so downloading everything really slows things down. Is there any way for me to download just the FM file? Nothing in my update will ever touch the external files, so it's ok if they're not accessible to me during the updates.

Not in the download feature... you're probably better off grabbing a file from a backup.
