I swear if its not one thing its another, a customer is running FM 5.5 and out of no where he's getting the good old "The Application Filwmaker has unexpectedly quit due to a type 1 error" Now this is an older thmachine with a G3 300 with 256 mg of ram OS 9.0.4 and nothing else running but the most current version of NetBarrier firewall (which has never given me problems) and FM ULTD with like 90mg of ram given to it ? Any clues?

Error type 1 is a bus error so it is quite likely you either have an extension problem or the filemaker app has got damaged in some way.

I would recommend you first reinstall filemaker as it doesn't take long. If this doesn't work try disabling all non vital extensions, start with the most recently installed, if the problem is solved re-enble them in blocks (less restarts) until it stops working then narrow down in halves.

good luck

After a week of reinstalling FM UL and turning off almost every extension I am still getting Type 1 error crashes. the FM Server log says the user FM unlimited disconnects and the other logs dont give me any clues just quits and says Filemaker has quite due to a type 1 error. only thing left to turn off is Timbukto but I need it to resart the machine when this happens at night and on the weekends. Is FM stable at all cause it has never been for me

Frustrated..........
