During the live stream, Jesse will showcase the improved SafetyNet reliability, security, speed, and pricing as follows:

  • SafetyNet now sets up new customers with a 3-day WORM lock (Write Once, Read Many), which ensures that it is impossible to delete or overwrite backups until they are at least three days old. This not only protects against accidental deletion of important backups, it also ensures that hackers or ransomware attacks cannot corrupt or destroy your backups.
  • Many reliability improvements, incorporating many recent improvements that have been made in MirrorSync.
  • Now automatically detects the nearest AWS region for storing backup files, so backing up and restoring will be fast from anywhere in the world. We've fixed the bug that caused problems with some newer AWS regions.
  • Backups are faster, status updates are more responsive
  • You can now specify one or more additional email addresses for backup notifications (in addition to your Amazon account email address)
  • Significant price reduction for storage over 10 gigabytes, with volume pricing as low as $0.05 per gigabyte over 500 gigabytes; try the price calculator to see the new rates
  • Installer is now more reliable and no longer requires Java
