Hello dear Filemaker forum,

I am currently in the process of creating a self-made software for my small medical practice.

Unfortunately, I'm not that familiar with Filemaker yet and am now facing a bit of a hurdle.

Every time a patient comes in for a follow-up, I want to create a new entry. To do this, I want to click on the blue button at the top, whereupon a new tab should appear with the current date.
For the next visits, you should be able to repeat the whole process. In the end, you would have multiple tabs for the different visits.

Please help me!

Operating system: macOS Monterey
FileMaker Version 19

In actuality you would have a Patient record and you would have a visit record each occurrence out be to create a new related record for each visit.

These are portals that break things down to Next / Future / Past appointments.

It is not possible to create new tabs programmatically. A tab control is a layout object with a permanent number of tab panels - a number you decide on when designing the layout.

However, it is possible (and highly advisable) to create a related record in a Visits table every time you see a patient, and show these records in a portal.

Thank you very much for your response.

This sounds like a better solution! However, I have no idea how to accomplish that. Could you help me? Or is there any I could use for that purpose?

Kind regards
