Hi,

I can create a new field in the manage database fields window, but when I attempt to alter it from text to number the "type" drop down box does not respond, nor does the "options" button.

I then tried to alter an existing field and the same problem.

Never had this problem before in 14 years of use.

Any assistance would be appreciated

I checked in the Preferences/User Interface Language and it is set to English in the drop down box.

I also noticed that if I go into the Manage Database, the only way I can exit is by clicking the red X at the top and then selecting Discard Changes, as the Ok and Cancel Button at the bottom are also not working.

I was referring to supported OS and FileMaker version. However, it sounds as if the file is in read only mode. Check r/w permissions. Can you enter new data?
