mdfOffman Posted January 17, 2023 Posted January 17, 2023 Is there a simple way to sort value lists descending? I don't need anything fancy like BOMS. I just need to be able to see the newest records first and not at the bottom of a mile long historical record scroll! Thanks

No. However, you can reduce the number of values by showing only related values from a relationship that shows only recent records. Or select from a card window instead of using a value list. This would be the preferred method with a large list anyway, regardless of the sorting issue. BTW, prepending some invisible characters (not necessarily BOMs) to the "real" values is not that complicated either. But for this we would need to know more about your exact situation: which fields are involved in this and how many records do you expect to have.
mdfOffman Posted January 17, 2023 Author Posted January 17, 2023 Thank you again. Please excuse my ignorance but can you please elaborate "select from a card window". I searched for that but came up with nothing.

mdfOffman Posted January 17, 2023 Author Posted January 17, 2023 Super cool. I had never explored the different New Window styles but I found some excellent YouTube videos by Martha Zink at Soliant that brought me up to speed pretty fast. I shall certainly look at selecting records that way. Thank you so much.
