Instant and custom web publishing at the same time?

Featured Replies

Hey all:

We'd like to put up a couple databases with instant publishing, and one with custom publishing at the same time, on the same machine. Is this possible? With filemaker, it seems to be an "either/or" situation.

Thanks,

LS

I believe you're correct... either/or...

however, you may be able to run two seperate versions of FMP5 (seperate Serial #s) on a single machine and just assign them different port numbers...

It should work, but stability/performance may be an issue...

But cheaper than another machine if your sites aren't "mission critical"

I'd try it with your current version, and a "free trial" version and see how it performs.

You can have a database available under instant publishing and also create your own html pages that access it via web companion, or even add a web server and lasso and sevewral other cgi's at the same time.

Yes, if served from different WebCompanions from different machines and the database will be on server or will be shared from one Unlimited to the second and to the machine with Lasso etc.
