Hi,

Customer recently moved to windows server 2003.

Since then, randomly, the Fmp process just disappears !!

My customer is becoming very stressed, as this can happend few times a day !!!

No event view messages, nothing consistent in the web logs...

I haven't got the slightest clue what could cause this...

Any suggestions?

There was a separate updat for the FMP 6 Web Companion plug-in: do you have that installed? Just running the FMP 6.0v4 update does NOT install the Web Companion update.

yes, I have that installed too...

Today it happened again, after a terminal service user did an operation on a FMP6 client....

Starnge.....

an update....

I reduced the MEM buffer back to 512K (from 4MB) and it looks like it is stable now...

HELP !!!

It is still making problems !!!

After I reduced the cache to 512K, I thought it stoped, but yesterday it happened again...the process just vanished and all the users got that connectivity to host is lost.....

Can someone please shed some light on this issue...

I'm thinking of going back to win2k....

are all the users connected to this FMPU machine? Are they all web clients or regular FM clients?

If the problem wasn't there on W2K then by all means go back. Much easier than troublehshooting this issue. It certainly isn't a well known issue with an easy fix.

Well, most of the users are web users (both kind are using same machine).

Anyways, I think that this is happening when users trying to display records from a certain DB on the web...

I will rebuild the file from scratch, maybe it is making all the problems...

I will keep ya' all posted.

OK...It still making problems... frown.gif

I did the following:

1- FMPU on machine A (HOST)

2- FMPU on machine B (client)

3- RDP FMP clients on machine A.

machine b is used for the web users (CDML).

The thing is: sometimes (1 in 3 approx.)when a user is entering a specific report on the web, the HOST (machine A) is crashing...

I rebuilt the report DB from scratch and still no use.....

Can something in the HTML cause that? and why is the HOST crashing and not the client which is processing the web query?

I'm soooooooo lost here....help. confused.gif

Ok...

After rebuilding all the files still doesn't work...

SO... I installed FMS 5.5 and it stoped crashing!!!

My only guess is that FMPU couldn't handle the load that was created by hosting the DB and web access...
