Our IT department wants to upgrade our server hardware and OS. The current supported server OS at the Smithsonian is Windows Server 2008 (32-bit is okay, though not preferred.)

Unfortunately, we are stuck on FileMaker Server 5.5 for at least another year. Has anyone had experience with FMS 5.5 on Windows Server versions above 2000?

Thanks,

bew

You may want to search the forums at FileMaker.com.

There are known issues with Server 2003 so I would imagine those would happen on 2008 too.

Why would they want to update the server OSs that is NOT end-of-life yet and still officially supported by MS, but continue to use an unsupported and long-dead FM product?
