July 9, 201213 yr Hi, Has anyone successfully used the pic2shop app as part of a FM database. If so how?
July 9, 201213 yr We sell FileMaker-ready tiny hardware barcode scanners that are more consistently reliable than any software solution. Check out store.zerobluetech.com. Let me know if you have any questions,
December 5, 201213 yr Greg Lane was among the first to use pic2Shop with Filemaker Go shortly after Go was released. If you're using FileMaker Go 12, the URI scheme is different, which you'll need to account for if you adapt Greg's work.
December 27, 201213 yr I had trouble getting pic2shop to work with my app (very likely my ineptness, not the program). Anyway i went with CNS Barcode and it works fine.
March 11, 201312 yr Newbies I had trouble getting pic2shop to work with my app (very likely my ineptness, not the program). Anyway i went with CNS Barcode and it works fine. Hey, I am a newbie here and I am trying to find a free QR Code reader and I saw the post be titled with Barcode scanner but after reading all those replies I have no idea of what barcode reader are you talking about. So would you give me a link of the barcode scanner you are discussing.
March 11, 201312 yr If there's an app that (1) will scan QR barcodes, (2) can be integrated with FileMaker Go via a custom URI scheme, and (3) is free, I've never heard of it. The next best thing is CNS Barcode, which only fails on parameter 3. If you find another viable alternative, please share it.
March 21, 201312 yr I just saw a barcode scanning related post that looks complicated to implement, but may do what you want: http://fmforums.com/forum/topic/84929-filemaker-go-barcode-example/
March 26, 201312 yr Newbies I have used iCody app for iphone and iPad very successfully. They give an example of how to implement into Filemaker Go. It's not free, but only $9.99
August 7, 201312 yr Newbies how can i integrate my barcode scanner c# with the filemaker without costing money, there must be some way, right?
August 7, 201312 yr Sure there is. FM supports all industry standards for integration and pushing data around: ODBC, JDBC and XML. You can make a connection to the FM file that way from inside your C# application. There is even a .NET connector class (www.fmdotnet.org) The biggest question is whether the FM file is local (not hosted on FileMaker Server) or if it is hosted on FileMaker Server. Can you expand a bit on your exact scenario.
August 16, 201312 yr Newbies How about Java barcode scanner? How can I integrate it with the filemaker?
August 16, 201312 yr that's a JAR file so not much you can do with that except through the 360works ScriptMaster plugin perhaps. Not that this rules out using FM Go.
December 19, 201312 yr It is difficult to give you good advice, when you are not specific... In FMGO13 for iPhone/iPad, there is now builtin barcode read, via camera. You can also use a bluetooth hardware scanner and send via HID to a field in FMGO. The same can be done to a FileMaker Pro client. On FileMaker Pro client, you can also use a serial interface hardware scanner, but you will need a plugin to communicate via serial protocol. There is no need for using other libraries, such as C#, java etc. for reading barcodes.

May 16, 201411 yr Newbies Check thses out, might be helpful: http://9to5forums.com/discussion/673 http://forums.filemaker.com/posts/701e8da494/barcode-reader Thanks for the link. The second offers some useful informtaion.
May 16, 201411 yr We use scanning with FMGo for all of our inventory management and Work Order creation. We have about 10 iPods that use the Koamtac bluetooth scanner. It was one of the only ones we found that was a "wedge" device, so it just enters the data like a regular keyboard instead of having to go outside of FMGo and come back in. They've worked great for us. No plugins or apps required. http://www.koamtac.com/kdc200.htm
December 19, 201411 yr Hi Reid, Why did you choose kdc200 and not for example kdc400. Apart from scanner price, I just wonder how you can work efficiently if you have to handle 2 devices, instead of 1 device. We are planning to use an ipod touch with fm13 go for inventory purposes. We are coming from FM11 environment whereby we used iwp and a windows based barcode scanner. Thanks,
