We just installed a new FileMaker Server 13 on a Windows host and configured to use External Authentication with Active Directory. We were doing some initial test that appeared not to be working until we used the fully qualified domain username (i.e.: [email protected]). Does anyone know why it won't just authenticate with the username (i.e. jon.smith)?

That would typically mean that the FMS machine itself is not recognized  as being part of the AD domain.  Can you log into the OS on the server with one of the AD accounts?

 

Also; is the workstation that the user is logging in from part of that same authenticating domain?
