February 27, 200322 yr Inspired by CoreSolutions Development Inc's 'FileMaker Pro Development Standards' (say that 10 times fast) here is a set of files (and folders) to act as a
February 28, 200322 yr Author Thanks. Now that i think about it. I missed features. I was going to use popups based on relations (and have a popup database etc for that). As well, I was thinking about a log file, but that isn't much good till a get a security system in there.
February 28, 200322 yr Hi Eric, Thanks for sharing. Even without being a professional developper, this tool would be very useful for those who are planning to build their own database. We still need to store the 'development standards" in case of troubleshoot... The Core setup is really interresting and very detailled. Your folders gives a good view of what the structure should be. But would you mind sharing your password for the Template ?
February 28, 200322 yr Author 'master77' and 'user77' are the passwords. They are also in the readme.
February 28, 200322 yr Sorry for that. Actually I found it, but the Read me was difficult to read for me. Other system I think. Many thanks.
March 1, 200322 yr OK I am feeling real stupid right now...I download unzip and all I get is empty folders. Never had this happen before. What am I doing wrong?
March 1, 200322 yr Keep looking, one of the folders has the files. I thought the same thing too when I first openned it up. HTH lee
March 2, 200322 yr These are based on the developer standards. It isn't just a set of FileMaker files, but a standard for any project, showing how the folders should be setup to make keeping track of all parts of development Read the readme in the initial folder HTH
March 3, 200322 yr Author Thanks for the freeback. Should have put the read me in the original post. Forgot that most people don't read them!
March 3, 200322 yr Thanks, I found them...actually I did "read" the read me...just missed that line. Nice work
April 10, 200322 yr I'm currently trying to understand how the alternating color background is created and it is using the mod operator however what I can't get is, it is setting the value of the field to a container field. The container field that contains the gray image, zi.gListColour. I'm not sure what the gray image color is exactly? I tried doing the exact same thing and all I got was only a small portion of the background contained what was in the zi.gListColour. When you resize the zi.gListColour, it fills in the whole field? What exactly is contained in this container field... Thanks...
April 28, 200322 yr Author If anyone is wondering, I've got a newer version of this in the mix. Checkboxes will work different, not work in find mode and Built-in security system. Just got to get inspired enough to finish it off to post.
