This thread should probably be removed before the attorneys show up.

Hi Tom,

Don't know if there is anything here that we can be sued over, but I do think that this is just one of the problems of letting people post that don't identify themselves. Seems that the poster fm7dev only registered today.

Well, heres the thing. There are alot of people who know what is happening with Filemaker (I have a pretty good idea, but I cannot discuss it). There are alot of people who think they know what is happening. Finally there are alot of people who can guess.

Which group does "fm7dev" fall into?

The screenshot is nothing that I cannot do in Finder right now and post. Shoot I can give a screen shot of the folders for Filemaker 10, I can show what the icons look like, what the license agreement looks like, ect. How can I do this? Well, because nobody else knows any different.

Do I think that "fm7dev" doctored the photo? No.

Do I think that "fm7dev" actually has the program in question? Maybe, I have no real way to know.

BUT, if it is real and "fm7dev" is not bound by an NDA, I would LOVE to hear more about it!

OK Guys --

Lets look at this. There has been no real leaks of information since DevCon.

Therefore everyone should assume that DevCon was under NDA (as it is every year)

I noticed the ETS License Agreement.rtf

What is ETS??? It is not anything ordinarily FileMaker. Wherever these screenshots are coming from, they are not supposed to be here. I guarantee whatever 'FMdev' has it IS supposed to be under NDA.

Facts are -- FileMaker probably wanted to release a new version of its software BY devcon. Why wouldn't they? Perfect place to do it. They get major marketing points at DevCon and get everybody excited about their software. Why didn't they... that is anyone's guess. Mine is they were delayed on their internal testing (and external for that matter.... FileMaker DO have an External Test Site).... hold on External Test Site...ETS...hmmm!!!!) For no news to come out of DevCon we can assume they were not ready.

We have all heard the rumors about what is going to happen, and more will follow this no doubt. Unfortunately they are just rumors as FM are being very tight lipped with everything. Personally I think a little leak of information is a major plus for FileMaker. Any news is good news, right?

As someone else pointed out, most software providers have a leak of their test products before they are ready.... like the next OSX. It is the nature of software, and of us..the hungry developers who use that software.

But... seeing an icon or two and a splash screen (in Japanese/Chinese) doesn't really do that much for me.

Anyone got a question on FileMaker they want answered?::

It is quite common here in asia to see development and pre release software sold in the computer markets. You name almost any software package or OS and I can probably find it here in some form or other. So most likely someone in a company under nda somewhere left a copy sitting around, once it gets out in one place its everywhere over night. Pretty much same for movies, the studios release promotional copies for pre release previews and they show up in the shops here sometimes before the films have been released in the states. I wouldnt expect if FM7 is available in that form now here its undocumented or hacked for use, if it works at all. If you buy this software here its buyer be ware it may not come with an installer, but simply copied applications, etc, no documentation and really not worth the hassles....No I do not and would not supply it if it was available.
