thg Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 I was hoping FM 7 would be fully Unicode-savvy and able to display all kinds of scripts with minimal trouble. For example, I expected that the program would search the fonts on the system and use whatever is present to display utf-8 characters, as does TextEdit or Mail or most browsers. However, on importing tabbed utf-8 files containing a number of scripts, I find that each field has to have its font set separately. You can set one default font for a field in Layout View, but if the field then winds up with characters not contained in that font they will show up as boxes until you manually go in and change it. Is that the way it is supposed to work, or have I missed some preference setting which would let it automatically use multiple fonts in a field depending on its contents? Thanks for the help.
