save a copy of a live file?

It appears that live backups are possible with FM7. I just performed save a copy... of a hosted file with clients connected to the file and editing records. With FM6 you had to kick all the users to do this. So I guess with applescript or a scheduling plugin, you could do unattended automated backups without the need for FMS. Since my system will never reach beyond 5 users (he says) , I could get by without shelling out $999 for server.

Has anyone else noticed this?
