Microsoft Word X data merge and FM Pro 7

I have a Microsoft Word X data merge document that was previously linked to a FileMaker Pro 6 data file via Word's FileMaker Import Wizard. After converting the FM 6 file to FM 7 format, Word no longer recognizes the FileMaker Pro data file. Is this due to an incompatibility between Word's FM Import Wizard and FM 7 files, or am I doing something wrong?

I would guess since there has been no update to Office since FM7, that Office can't recognize the new file format. Maybe office 2004?

I'm having exactly the same problem and been unable to find an update on the Microsoft Support site. Is there a way to save an FM7 file as an FM6 file so Word will recognize it?

I guess Microsoft will hold out until Office 2004 (OSX) is released.

Bad news -

Office 2004 Word doesn't work with FM Pro 7, I just tried the demo of Office 2004 with FM Pro 7 and it's a no go
